Sit with us

Retreats

We welcome anyone to join us for our weekly group sits, which include 30 minutes of silent meditation. Cushions (bolsters and zafus), blankets, and chairs are provided.

Sundays: 5:00pm – 6:00pm

Tuesdays: 12:00pm – 12:45pm

Thursdays: 12:00pm - 12:30pm

These sits are offered in-person at the Sangha house, located at 248 D Street in Salida, Colorado. The Tuesday sits are also available via Zoom by clicking here. The door on D Street has an Access Ramp if needed. Please knock and someone will open the door.

The Salida Insight Meditation Community strives to offer multiple retreats each year, thanks to the generous dana from our sangha community.

We offer both residential and non-residential retreats, each led by recognized Buddhist teachers.

We come together to support each other on the path of awakening and to deepen our practice of wisdom and compassion for the benefit of all beings. We are committed to cultivating an appreciation of the value of diversity and to acknowledging the need to recognize and dissolve barriers that separate us from each other. We open our doors and hearts to all social identities including, but not limited to, all races, classes, sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, abilities, cultures, and ethnicities. Individuals from all religious and spiritual backgrounds, and at all stages of their spiritual journey, are welcome. OUR MISSION:

SIMC is dedicated to the teachings of the Buddha as presented in the Vipassana tradition. The practice of mindful awareness, called Insight or Vipassana meditation, is at the heart of all of our activities. SIMC offers weekly meditation sessions, residential and non-residential meditation retreats, classes, discussion and support groups, library resources, and teachings led by recognized Buddhist teachers.
